How to get involved

We need your help naming Bath’s stunning new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the River Avon. The bridge is at the centre of Bath Quays, the council’s flagship redevelopment project, which is creating a new and vibrant quarter for Bath’s business to flourish. It was designed by Marc Mimram and installed in November 2021.

Bath & North East Somerset Council would like residents to select from our shortlist of bridge names or submit a suggestion. The bridge naming event will run from 31st October to 2nd December 2022. Please note all names are subject to the B&NES street naming policy.

The results will be considered by a special committee and then subject to a single member decision by Councillor David Wood, cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services. The new name will be revealed in 2023.

This new bridge connects the city centre with the new Bath Quays Business District, a regeneration of the former site of world-renowned Bath engineering firm, Stothert and Pitt.

The bridge, designed by Marc Mimram, was installed in November 2021 and provides an additional crossing point over the River Avon to connect the north and south of the city of Bath. This bridge will be a key route for pedestrians and cyclists and provides greater connectivity between the north and south of the river.
